Launching its first cruise back in the summer of 2007, Bhaya Classic Cruises is a member of what is now Halong Bay’s largest fleet of cruise boats & ships. The 4 Bhaya Classic boats are constructed in a classic, oriental style, while incorporating modern facilities catering to every aspect of passenger comfort.
Each Bhaya Classic boat has between 15 and 20 cabins, the relatively small design creating informal, warm spaces promoting a convivial feel on board. A refurbishment programme carried out in August 2015 has given the boats a fresh new look.

SAFETY AND SECURITY
At Bhaya Classic, the safety and security of our guests and team members is paramount. Before each cruise begins, all of our cruise passengers take part in a safety briefing. Our team members on the boat are well acquainted with all on-board safety systems and undergo rigorous monthly safety training. Bhaya Classic boats are all equipped with integrated boat-wide alarm systems, life rings, life rafts and fire extinguishers. Each passenger cabin is connected to the alarm system, and is equipped with a fire extinguisher, hammer, flashlight and life jackets. When it comes to safety, there are no short-cuts.
THE CAPACITY
The Bhaya Classic ships each have from 15 to 20 cabins, for a passenger capacity ranging from 40 to 60 persons. Normal cabin capacity is up to 2 adults and 1 child. In addition to cruise passengers, each boat will carry a full crew, varying between 15 and 25 team members depending on the boat and the number of passengers. Apart from the private space within your cabin, the boat’s open-plan restaurant and bar area, as well as the sundeck on the top level, offer ample space for socializing with other passengers, or for simply enjoying the scenery on your own.

Q: What’s the best time to visit Halong Bay?
A: The best time of year to visit Halong Bay is during spring or fall. Because the bay is situated in the northern part of the country, it can get colder in late fall and winter. However, generally speaking, Halong Bay can be visited all year round. You should be aware that the cruise may encounter sporadic cancellations between July to September due to storms.
Q: What is Bhaya Cruises’ policy on cruising while pregnant?
A: Bhaya Cruises regretfully has to refuse guests who have entered their 37th week of pregnancy by the beginning of the cruise. Please advise us how far along (in weeks) your pregnancy is and confirm that you are in good health and are not experiencing a high-risk pregnancy. Besides this, please also inform us of your pregnancy in order for us to take good care of you. Bhaya Cruises strongly recommends you review your health insurance coverage before Halong Bay cruise.
Q: Do we need to book an extra room if we have children?
A: The maximum number of adults in one cabin is two. However Bhaya Cruises can accommodate infants with travel cots sharing with their parent’s cabin or an extra mattress for children under 12 years old. Travel cots and extra mattresses are available. As soon as you have made your reservation, please make a note directly in the booking in order to check the availability and reserve a cot or extra mattress.
Q: What is the cruise policy for children?
A: Occupancy of a room is limited to two adults and one child. Bhaya Cruises may however allow children to stay in the room with their parents, either with or without an extra mattress. Our policy is not to charge for children under 2 years of age. One extra child between 2 and 11 staying with its parents with the existing beds is charged at US$ 80/ child/ night. Two children below 12 staying in a separate cabin will be charged at 75% of the adult price. Children from 12 years older will be charged the same as adults.
Q: How many total guests can check into a room or suite?
A: The maximum occupancy for any room or suite is 02 adults and 01 child under 12 years old. Additional charges may apply for occupancy of more than two guests per room or suite.
Q: What is the booking cancellation policy?
A: Please be sure to check our terms and conditions prior to making your booking.
The cancellation policy depends on the number of cabins you reserve. For your convenience, you can find a link to this policy on both the booking form as well as your Confirmation Email.
Changes to the period / length of your stay may result in a cancellation fee. This also includes requests for shortened stays or changing dates before and after your check-in.
You must notify Bhaya Cruises if you plan on cancelling your booking. Our English-speaking staffs are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Q: Can I make a booking online if I am not one of the guests?
A: Yes. The credit card holder is not required to be present at check-in. If the credit card holder is not one of the guests, he or she can pay for the booking via third party payment. The credit card holder must complete and fax a Payment Confirmation form as well as a copy (both sides) of the used credit card to +84 4 39446776. Q: When do I pay for my Ha Long Bay cruise vacation?
A: The payment schedule for groups is different from that of individuals. Final payment of the balance must be received by Bhaya Cruises immediately after you complete booking for groups from 1 – 10 guests, at the time of booking for groups from 10 – 20 guests and 90 days prior to the cruise date for groups from 20 up to 70 guests.
For all holiday cruises, Christmas and New Year’s, payment is due 30 days prior to cruise day.
Q: Which boat will I stay on during Halong Bay cruise?
A: This also depends on your selected package. If you select package with Bhaya Classic, it can be on one of the four boats with other passengers (maximum 20 cabins and 40 guests). If you select Bhaya Legend, it is one of the private boats for your group only.
Q: Do I choose the 2 day or 3 day Ha Long Bay cruise?
A: If you have the time available, we would like to recommend you book a 3 day cruise. Although the two day option is also filled with activities and definitely worth booking, you will get the most out of your Halong Bay experience on a 3 day cruise. A longer cruise itinerary allows you to explore more places and cruise further to less crowded spots such as the beautiful Lan Ha Bay and Cat Ba Island. There’s also more time for relaxing and enjoying some really interesting activities on the second day. There is for example the option for biking and trekking on Cat Ba Island if the weather permits it. This itinerary is also the perfect choice for those keen on water activities such as kayaking, swimming, cycling and exploring nature.
Q: Do you offer an extra bed in cabin?
A: Our cabins can accommodate maximum two (02) Adults and one (01) Child under the age of 12. Bhaya Cruises can not provide extra beds; however, Bhaya Cruises can offer a mattress (80cm x 160cm) or portable baby cot by request. Please advise your travel consultant for further details when you book your Halong cruise.
Q: Does Bhaya Cruises go to Lan Ha Bay?
A: Yes, the two night option on Bhaya Classic or in case of private charter of Bhaya Legend. The access to Lan Ha Bay depends on the weather conditions at the time.
Q: What is included in the package price?
A: This depends on your selected package. Please select a tentative date, check the price and refer to the inclusions/exclusions list. Usually you can expect to have the cabin charges and meals included. Transfer, spa services, beverages, hotel in Halong or Hanoi… are excluded from the price.
